Welcome to the Atrocious Gameplay Wiki

Based on the concept of Crappy Games Wiki, this wiki was made to warn about atrocious and or frustrating levels, bosses, game specific mechanics, glitches, enemies and unlockable achievements in games. You can find things from the infamous Water Temple dungeon and Silver the Hedgehog boss fight, to the memory card corruption glitch found in the Viewtiful Joe 2 demo.

This is not about bad games in general, which is already covered by Crappy Games Wiki. Also, pages about game mechanics must be specific to a certain game or a certain game franchise/series. For pages about annoying and/or frustrating gaming tropes such as Micro-transactions in general see the Crappy Games Wiki.

As you would expect, game spoilers can be found on this wiki. To avoid being spoiled, don't browse the wiki. You have been warned.

Rules and Guidelines

  1. Each article about a bad or frustrating game mechanic, segment, game glitch, or achievement will have the Why It Sucks header for reasons on why it is considered bad. For game glitches, the How To Activate header will be put above the Why It Sucks header. Redeeming Qualities is used to explain the good qualities about the mechanic, segment, or game glitch, if any are here. A Tips header can be applied to the bottom of the page.
  2. Game glitches that prevent further progress in the game's story mode, break a game mechanic required to play the game, or outright corrupts or deletes a saved game, are considered game breaking glitches and can be added to the wiki.
  3. Achievements should be unforgiving for gimmicky requirements, or just plain unforgiving and extremely frustrating to obtain. Achievements should not be earned for collecting all of some generic collectible or doing all of a task, but rather gimmicky requirements, for example the TMNT: Mutants in Manhattan had an RNG-based achievement that requried you to beat a boss with one of the turtles making a face.
  4. Articles must be about controversial or generally poorly received gameplay mechanics, segments, or glitches, or achievements commonly known to be frustrating to unlock, not about controversial story elements or things such as plot elements or potentially offensive elements, it must be about gameplay. Pages about levels like No Russian from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 are not allowed due to this rule (for this level the reason why it is poorly reveieved is not poor gameplay, but the controversical story element of being able to participate in a terrorist attack).
  5. If more than one video is to be applied to the article, add a Videos header at the bottom of the page and use the gallery tag to create a video gallery.
  6. Rude behavior towards other users will not be accepted.  If you are rude towards another user, expect a permanent ban.
  7. Pages created by Trolls (such as Video Games that people and critics like and one person doesn't) will also result in a one-week ban.
  8. Refrain from Swearing on pages. The comments are however fine as long as they aren’t used to offend others.
  9. Reasons for deleted comments are: poor grammar, malicious propaganda, harassing others, insulting or if the comment makes no sense.
  10. Removing information or messing with the articles without giving a good reason will result in a permanent ban.
